foxJonathan Linn, a 20th Century Fox vice president, has sued his employer  for discrimination. He has leveled a number of complaints that include his bad treatment while working there because he is gay. He is a Native American as well and cites his age of over forty as another reason he was treated badly by the movie and television giant.

He named many individuals in the complaint and one particular co-worker was described as continually harassing him for 18 months before he was terminated by the company. In the suit, he claims that the people in the company are routinely discriminatory and frequently treat older workers with disrespect. His sexuality and Native American heritage are mentioned in the suit but he has stated he believes that other minorities are not being treated well there either.

Sexual orientation discrimination is illegal and prohibited by both California and federal laws. The California Fair Employment and Housing Act makes it unlawful for any employer with over 5 employees to discriminate against an employee based on an unlawful reason, such as race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, language, or any other protected reason. California law is broader than federal law on this point, as there is no law under Title VII that provides protection for discrimination based on the actual or perceived sexual orientation of employees.
